Sierra Leone co-authored Draft Protocol VI (CCW/GGE.1/2022/WP.8, 9 August 2022), a proposed binding CCW protocol that prohibits autonomous weapon systems whose autonomous functions are designed to attack outside meaningful human control and whose use does not comply with international humanitarian law, and regulates the rest - a two-tier prohibit-and-regulate instrument.

Sierra Leone co-authored a draft CCW protocol whose prohibition on autonomous weapons is conditional, and is paired with regulation of the rest.
