Corrections
This site will make mistakes. Position coding is interpretation, statements are diplomatic and deliberately ambiguous, and records arrive in many languages. The policy is to fix errors fast and in the open.
The policy
A correction never disappears history. When a coding is superseded, the old coding stays visible with a data-integrity notice and the date it was corrected. Red on this site carries exactly two meanings: that notice, and the thin seam marking the moment a coded position changed. Red never marks a state's position, and it never signals approval or disapproval of one.
Corrections are listed on this page as they happen, newest first, each with what changed, why, and the evidence that forced the change.
Report an error
If a quote is wrong, a date is off, a link is dead, or you read a coding differently, say so. Open an issue in the repository. Include the state, the page, and the source you are reading. Substantive disagreements about a coding get answered with evidence on this page, whether or not the coding changes.
